22-03-19 -  Every now and then we get a dog who comes in and pulls at every heart string in the rescue. Today it is Janice. Unfortunately Janice has come to us in a terrible state which is very sad to see - she has lots of lumps and bumps on her little body, ulcers, sore teeth and a coat that is in need of a nice wash and brush to help her feel more comfortable.  Janice is a lovely little dog who walks very well on the lead, She is very gentle and easy to handle - she is a star despite how uncomfy she must be feeling and we will get her feeling much brighter as soon as we can. Janice really needs to be in a warm loving home with another kind resident dog to be her friend and show her about house training and home manners and a person who can see beyond her little body and into her heart and soul like we do.

09-04-19 UPDATE

Janice came in to the rescue in bad way and her body was in poor condition. Since then, she has come a long way and is hoping to find a home but sadly we have found Janice has multiple inflamed nodules ranging from mm to a few cm all over body and the prognosis is not good.  We are looking for a home who can offer Janice pallative care for her remaining time.  We have no idea how long or short that may be but we want to her experience life as a loved pet for whatever time she has.
Janice gets on very well with her kennel mates and enjoys snuggling with them in their bed. She would ideally like to go to a home with a dog a similar size to herself. She enjoyed playing with the ball but didn’t want to chase it but just wander around with it in her mouth. She didn’t mind being handled at all and she enjoys a fuss when she gets to know you. All round, Janice is a very sweet girl with a lot of love to give her new family. She would love a warm bed to snuggle up in and a loving home.

19-04-19 UPDATE
Darling Janice pulls on our heart strings every day. She really needs to be enjoying her time that she has left in a home environment as whilst we can love her and care for her we cannot provide the home she so deserves.
Janice has a type of cancer that can be treated with a chemotherapy tablet that will give her a little longer to enjoy the luxuries of a home - usually an extra 9months more but with statistics anywhere from an extra 3months to 2 years. This medication costs approximtely £25 per week depending on your vets fees and she may need occasional blood monitoring too to see how she's  doing.
If you feel you may be able to help our darling Janice please let us know.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS - JANICE ^ IS BY DONATION

Although JANICE ^ is by donation rather than the full adoption fee, we ask for a minimum donation of £100 to help cover the costs that have been incurred. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
