02-05-19 - Simmer is a sweet boy who was no longer needed by his breeder. He has never had a chance to do beagly things as He has only lived in a kennel before. Simmer needs to learn to trust humans and how to walk on a lead, about housetraining and most importantly, learn how to enjoy life! He will need a kind dog in his new home to help him adjust, learn these new things and to be his best friend. He needs someone kind and ready to hold his  paw when he needs in and to rejoice as He explores the world and enjoys his life for the very first time

27-05-19 UPDATE
Meet Simmer the beagle who is only 5 years old but has never had the opportunity to live a normal life. Therefore he is a bit shy of people still so would need another dog in his new home. Simmer has been with us now nearly a month but he has grown in confidence a bit to the point he will allow you to stroke him. Please help us find his forever home.

10-06-19 UPDATE

Meet Simmer the beagle.  He's a little shy of new people until he gets to know your but once he does he is a lovely boy who just wants his chance to be loved and live in a home with another dog and new family so please help us find his forever home.

22-06-19 UPDATE

Simmer is now an accomplished lead walker if he's with another dogso he still needs a confident dog to live with, to learn from and be a playful companion. Simmer will need some good long walks to use up his energy. He let me make a fuss of him bur wasn't too sure about this and I'm positive that once he's in a home he will learn to enjoy human attention. Simmer is a beagle and they are not the easiest to rehome, but this lad is a real gentle boy with a happy nature.

17-07-19 UPDATE

Simmer has been with us here for a few months now and still hasn't found a home. He's a very lovely natured boy who has plenty of love to give. He can be a bit reserved with people at first but once you've sat there with him for a bit he'll come out of his shell. This lovely beagle deserves so much more in life. Simmer walks very well on the lead. Will you be the one to give this handsome young man a new lease of life?

07-08-19 UPDATE

Simmer our silver faced 6 year old beagle boy has been with us for 3 months now. In fact, he had his 6th Birthday here in kennels... He has made great progress and is more than ready to leap into life in the real world now!
Simmer arrived very scared. He was very shy, shut down and would run away from us humans, and would avoid us handling him at all costs. However, this bright boy will now come running over to people he knows well, and give their hands lots of kisses! If we reach out to him he's fine and will have a good sniff while wagging his tail, but if we need to handle him or if we want to stroke him properly, he still cowers down a little bless him. But he is SO much more comfortable with human contact. So much so you wouldn't imagine how scared he was when he first came to us!
Simmer also arrived underweight, but he is now on 3 meals a day and has put on some much needed weight. He loves his food, and will always bark when he sees his dinner or breakfast being delivered! He is as quiet as a mouse as soon as his bowl touches the floor though!
Simmer is a fairly busy boy, and is pretty much always on the go... He's always standing at the front of his kennel, having a good nose at what's going on, wagging his tail! He will have a little lie down now and again - and he is always cuddled up to one of his friends. I think his best friend is probably the very popular Bego the beagle, who is a calm, confident, fun girl. He also lives with a smaller pug cross, a female cocker and has lived with other male dogs in the past. He shares his beds and toys perfectly, but we feed him separately so that he gets the right amount of food he needs.
Simmer will need to be homed with another more confident dog, and I think a calm, confident, playful, fun female dog would suit him down to the ground! Simmer loves to go for walks and go out on mini adventures. He is excited about walky time but is very submissive and cowers down when we go to put a lead on him, but he's perfectly comfortable walking on a lead. He also loves to go out into the sandschool where he will run around and play and have a great time! I hope this handsome hound finds his forever family soon.
He may be grey but he's not old, and he is certainly one of the more interested and liveliest boys on my section! He really wants to experience all life has to offer him!

24-08-19 UPDATE
Simmer has nearly completed his first week in his foster home and is improving daily. On his arrival he was terribly frightened of human contact and attempted many times to bolt. He was constantly looking for an escape route. A long line was put on him in the house, and each day he has improved. He will now lay outside in the garden quietly with the other dogs and enjoys watching their antics. He hasn't yet got the courage to join in with them. He now comes when you call him, a great improvement.
He doesn't like being in the crate, and we only used the crate to feed him so he has his own space to eat. After his first unhappy night in the crate, it was decided that he would sleep with our gentle hound - since then he has been a different dog. He is gaining so much confidence from him and looks to him for guidance constantly.
He has marked in the house twice since he's been here. He is usually excellent for letting you know he needs to go outside. He is walking quite well on the lead, but at the moment he does pull a bit - this is a work in progress, and not that big a deal. He's not fussed by the cats and ignores them. He will need to be homed with a kind resident dog to continue gaining confidence, but he is a gentle soul who will repay kindness and love tenfold as he continues to improve.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

Although SIMMER is by donation rather than the full adoption fee, we ask for a minimum donation of £100 to help cover the costs that have been incurred. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
