If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

26-7-19 Kalima is a very nervous little girl who has come to us from a breeder.  She relies heavily on her friends and  needs at least one other dog in her new home who she will watch and then start to copy what they do which will help her with house training and lead walking etc.  Kalima will allow you to pick her up but stays tense waiting for a chance to get away. She will need kind and patient owners who understand they need to earn her trust and give her the time she will need to settle.  Patience is the key word for Kalima so if you have plenty of this please apply.  Kalima has a passport.

27-08-19 UPDATE

Kalima is a beautiful girl with such an endearing little face. She’s a small girl with a heart of gold. Kalima is still very scared when it comes to people, but she loves other dogs. With people she will run away and bark in fear. However, when she calms down she can easily be handled.
Kalima doesn’t yet walk on a lead, but is in the process of having a harness put on her daily to try and get her used to the sensation of wearing one. She is a little tentative with me putting it on her at the moment, but once its on she’s happy to keep it on all day and it actually seems to enhance her confidence levels.
Kalima has got on with every dog that she’s been with, and she will definitely need to go to a home with a confident resident dog. This will help her learn all about home life and aid her confidence. Kalima is an active girl who runs around outside with her kennel mates and seems to have lots of fun. She does occasionally play with toys, but only on her own accord and not with people yet. When she is walking on her harness/ lead, Kalima will need nice long walks to keep her mind and body active.
This lovely little girl needs a very patient person with a calm home life to help her flourish into the fabulous dog I know she wants to be. It will just take a little time and a lot of love. Are you able to provide her with this?

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

In certain circumstances and in particular when it is one of our long term stayers or a dog who is difficult to home we may transport it down the M4 as far as Reading if the adopter is not able to travel for a valid reason. This will only happen on a Sunday and will be part of our Foster Run where we transport dogs to their foster homes. There will be and additional charge of £20 transport fee for this and the adopter must be able to travel to the allocated service station. Please think very carefully before asking for a dog to be transported as if you already have a dog there is no guarantee they will get along with the new dog or vice versa and you will need to be able to hold on to the dog until the following week and meet the van again if you wish to return the dog.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
